Return & Refund Policy

[Bracketed] fields are placeholders · Template, not legal advice

Returns

You can return most items within 30 days of delivery for a full refund to your original payment method. Items must be unused, in their original condition and packaging, with proof of purchase.

The following cannot be returned: [e.g. gift cards, perishable goods, personalised items, intimate or sanitary goods, sale items].

How to start a return

  • Email [contact email] with your order number and the reason for the return.
  • We will reply with return instructions and the address to send the item to. Items sent without contacting us first may not be accepted.
  • Pack the item securely and keep your proof of postage.

Return shipping

You are responsible for return shipping costs unless the item arrived damaged, defective or incorrect. Original shipping charges are not refundable.

Refunds

Once we receive and inspect your return we will email you to confirm whether it is approved. Approved refunds are issued to your original payment method within [10] business days; your bank or card issuer may take a few more days to post it.

Damaged, defective or wrong items

If your order arrives damaged or incorrect, contact us within [7] days of delivery at [contact email] with photos, and we will make it right with a replacement or refund at no cost to you.

EU and UK customers

If you are a consumer in the EU or UK, you have a statutory right to withdraw from most online purchases within 14 days of receiving the goods without giving a reason. This policy does not limit that right or your other statutory rights for faulty goods.

Common choices

30 days is the most common return window among online retailers, but any period works as long as you state it clearly. Offering store credit only, or charging a restocking fee, is allowed in many places if disclosed before purchase, but it does not override statutory rights for faulty goods.

Frequently asked questions

Can I just copy this return policy template?

Yes, it is free to copy and adapt. But a template only works once every [bracketed] placeholder is replaced and every sentence matches what your business really does. Answering the questions above fills most of it in for you.

Is a generated policy legal advice?

No. PolicyForge produces a starting template from your answers. It cannot know every detail of your business or every law that applies to you. Read the whole document, replace every [bracketed] placeholder, make sure it describes what you actually do, and have a lawyer review it if you handle sensitive data, sell to children, or operate at scale.
